The owners wanted the home renovation’s design to be sympathetic to the house’s character yet also practical and modern and would support their beach lifestyle.
The owner’s home renovation approach was divided into two parts, part one being the puzzle design. Part two was engaging a builder who liked a challenge and was known for attention to detail, which led them to J A Ridgley.
Some of the extensions would require: Demolishing the existing low ceiling at the back of the house, The leaking bathroom, The unusable laundry (Besides the washing machine) and Termite damage throughout.
Working with the owners, we ensured their busy lives with work and parenting 3 young children continued without distraction despite them living in the home for the renovation.
THE RESULT
The bathroom walls are lined with Easycraft VJ panelling and are spacious and modern with a freestanding bath and walk-in shower.
The laundry walls are lined with Easycraft VJ panelling, it is minimal yet practical and functional.
The rumpus room walls are lined with Easycraft VJ panelling, and the ceilings are raked with exposed rafters for light to come through and for the growing children and their toy games and yet is also utilised by the adults when socialising.
